London-based South African musician Latoya Nontokozo Buthelezi, widely recognized as Toya Delazy, delivered a heartfelt tribute to her “dear grandfather” Mangosuthu Buthelezi during his funeral at the Prince Mangosuthu Stadium in Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal.

The founding figure of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) passed away at the age of 95, with his family confirming his demise through a statement.

Mangosuthu Buthelezi was laid to rest at KwaPhindangene in Nkonjeni, near Ulundi, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Toya Delazy, one of Prince Buthelezi’s four grandchildren, paid tribute to her grandfather, highlighting the pivotal role he played in her life, especially since he raised her following the death of her parents.

She expressed her appreciation for his influence on both her personal life and the broader Zulu community.

Delazy also shared cherished memories of her grandfather, including moments of singing together in the car and his encouragement of her music career.
