The Miss South Africa organization has issued a response to why Zozi Tunzi was absent at the recent pageant show.
The former Miss Universe 2019 received an invitation to the grand finale of Miss SA 2023, held on Sunday, August 13. However, Zimoja reports suggest that she declined the invitation.

In an intriguing turn of events, the model reportedly unfollowed Miss SA on Instagram and removed the title of Miss South Africa 2019 from her Instagram bio.
According to an insider who shared details, Zozi Tunzi had anticipated an invitation to serve as a judge for the event. However, when it became apparent that she wouldn’t be taking on that role, her interest reportedly waned, leading her to skip the event altogether.
Contrary to her expectations, Zozi had been extended an invitation as a VIP guest, as confirmed by Miss SA owner and organizer Steph Weil.
Steph Weil remarked, “I don’t know what happened to her. Maybe she confirmed other important things, but she was definitely invited and never showed up.”
Speculation has arisen that Zozi’s absence may be linked to behind-the-scenes turmoil related to the reality show “Crown Chasers,” which she hosted.

Insiders claim that a well-known fashion stylist, hired by the show to style Zozi, had been instructed to charge her directly due to a last-minute decision that Miss SA would not cover the expenses.
Addressing the rumors surrounding “Crown Chasers,” Steph commented, “I respect Zozi as a woman and a brand, and obviously there will be glitches and mistakes because it was our first season.”
