Jabulani Thamsanqa Zama, the visionary behind Durban’s renowned hotspot Eyadini Lounge, has tragically passed away. The entrepreneur’s life journey came to a close on Sunday, August 13, 2023, following a severe stroke.
Born in 1982, Jabulani Zama dies at age 41.

Announcing the news on social media, Zama’s family issued a heartfelt statement:
“With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our founder, Jabulani Thamsanqa Zama, affectionately known as Jigga Money.
A radiant spirit, brimming with love, happiness, and unwavering faith, has transcended to heaven, departing from us but drawing nearer to God.”
“In light of this unexpected loss, Eyadini Lounge will be temporarily closed until further notice.
We extend our deepest gratitude to each of you who stood steadfastly by his side. The family requests privacy during this period of mourning, with funeral arrangements to be communicated in due course,” the statement conveyed.

Siboniso Duma, the MEC for KwaZulu-Natal’s economic development, tourism, and environmental affairs, expressed condolences to Zama’s family and the broader community.
Duma highlighted the significant role Eyadini Lounge played in the local landscape:
“Our thoughts are with the family, as well as the staff, artists, and emerging entrepreneurs who found sustenance in the hospitality industry that he nurtured.
