Actress Sonia Mbele opens up about her divorce from Leslie Sedibe, shedding light on the reasons that led to their divorce.

To her, it was like living with the unfamiliar. Reflecting on her marriage, Sonia Mbele honestly shares;
“I woke up each day wondering who this person was, who I had married.” She hoped that her children would see her ex-husband’s true nature but remained silent, praying for the day to come.
Sonia’s prayers were answered when her child, at 15, expressed the desire to no longer live with his father. For Sonia, this marked a significant moment, as her child’s confession confirmed her feelings.
Sonia emphasized the importance of recognizing red flags in relationships to prevent further heartache. The red flags should be seen in time, Sonia Mbele said, adding that she wanted everyone to recognize it.

“We enter [marriages] with the goal of sticking it out and making it work. That’s what ultimately happened to this girl [referring to herself]”.
However, she discovered gradual revelations that eroded their love and trust. Mbele told the tale of how her ex-husband duped her into signing a paper giving him complete control over their house.
In a shocking revelation, Sonia shares how she found out that she was a bet to her ex-husband and his friends. He had seen her on television and made a bet to win her, leaving her feeling deceived and hurt.
Here is what she said: “Then you discover that you were a fictitious bet. They watched you on television; there were four of them; and they said, “On your marks, get set, go!” I was a bet, she said”
