Netflix SA has given a sneak peek into their upcoming young adult series, “Miseducation,” set to premiere on September 15th.
The plot revolves around Mbali Hadebe, portrayed by Buntu Petse, who faces upheaval when her family’s assets are seized due to her mother Brenda Hadebe’s (Baby Cele) involvement in corrupt political dealings.

Following this scandal, Mbali heads to Grahamstown University in Makhanda, hoping to break free from her mother’s tainted legacy and start anew.
Executive producer Rethabile Ramaphekela shared excitement about the collaboration with Netflix, saying,
“Miseducation promises to be an offbeat and fun comedy-drama series with a diverse bunch of colourful characters who are just trying to get through this thing called life.
We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Netflix in telling uniquely South African stories that we can take to the world.”
The cast includes Lunga Shabalala, Prev Reddy, Mpho Sebeng, Micaela Tucker, Mandisa Nduna, Camilla Waldman, Nicole Bessick, Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, Sechaba Ramphele, Luyanda Zwane, and Mamarumo Marokane.
Produced by Burnt Onion Productions, “Miseducation” is helmed by executive producers Katleho Ramaphakela, Rethabile Ramaphakela, and Tshepo Ramaphakela.
The series is directed by Catharine Cooke, Themba Mfebe, Lwazi Mvuzi, and Rea Rangaka.

With a combination of comedy and drama, the series delves into the lives of vibrant characters navigating the challenges of university life.
