In a twist that seems straight out of a courtroom thriller, popular artist Lehlogonolo ‘Shebeshxt’ Chauke has been ordered by the Lebowakgomo Regional Court to produce a doctor’s note for missing his court appearance.
The artist, who is facing serious charges from incidents in 2022, claims he couldn’t attend due to injuries sustained in a recent accident. Let’s dive into the juicy details!

These stem from two separate stabbing incidents in Lebowakgomo in 2022. After being arrested in April last year, he spent a few months in jail before being released on bail in July.
Mashudu Malabi-Dzangi from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) explained that the matter is currently in its plea and trial stages. However, Shebeshxt was unable to make it to court due to injuries from an accident last month.
The defence has been given until July 2024 to provide medical records explaining his absence. In the meantime, the artist appeared in absentia, causing yet another delay in the proceedings.
As if the existing charges weren’t enough, Shebeshxt is also under investigation for culpable homicide following a tragic car accident that claimed the life of his eight-year-old daughter outside Polokwane.
