Even in death, Kiernan Forbes (AKA) is ruling and creating a significant impact on his music. The contemporary music maker recently made history at the just concluded African Muzik Magazine Awards AFRIMMA.
AKA’s fourth album “Mass Country” has been named “Album of the Year”
The 14-track album features artists such as his girlfriend Nadia Nakai, as well as Khuli Chana, Nasty C, Emtee, Sjava, KDDO, Musa Keys, Gyakie, Yanga Chief, and Manana.
“ Mass Country” by Kiernan Forbes also known as AKA was on 24 February 2023, two weeks after he was murdered in Durban.
The album was a letter of farewell to South Africa and had represented on major stages worldwide.
There’s no doubt the project was beautifully crafted, with a track list that has a diverse sound, excellent bodywork, with quirky rhymes, clever punchlines, and catchy hook, little wonder why mass country became a strong victory lap to a race at the AFRIMMAs
The event, the 10th edition of AFRIMMA, was held on Sunday night September 17 at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.
