The soul-stirring singer, Kamo Mphela has gone past a whopping two million streams in just four days on the music streaming platform Spotify, making her the first female artist and overall act in South Africa to rack up such numbers.

It was also noted that her rise on Spotify is primarily because of her latest hit song which she titled “ Dalie”

Kamo Mphela becomes the first lead female artist in the history of South Africa to have a song receive over 100k daily streams on Spotify.

The last female artist to achieve such feat was Adele back in 2021.

“Dalie” also retains a high ranking on all major streaming platforms. It is first on Audiomack, second on YouTube and Shazam and third on Spotify and Apple Music.

Kamo Mphela’s Dalie is also doing well in other African countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana, and is number 11 on the Shazam Global Charts.

On TikTok, the song received more than 253.2 million views.
The star took to Instagram to share the news with her followers with the caption “All we can do is thank god 🙏🏾 & the team ❤️🤘🏾 ( it’s just stats),”

Kamo Mphela, is a 23 years old South African dancer and singer. She rose to prominence after she posted a video of her dancing on her social media account.

For Kamo, entertainment has always been her thing, Her delectable passion for dancing started at an early age, when she accompanied her father who at the time worked at YFM and at events where she would perform on stage and dance which eventually led to her getting more exposure through live performances.

Before pursuing her dancing career she had tried acting and had got a chance to be an extra on the TV soap Isibaya, but she later realised that it was not for her and she started performing as a dancer at gigs.

Her dancing skills eventually got her the name “Queen of Amapiano” and since then, Kamo has demonstrated her creativity in her songs.
