It’s been over a year since the renowned rapper and record producer passed away, yet his presence still resonates deeply within the hearts and minds of his family and fans. For Lynn, this marks her second birthday without AKA, making it a bittersweet occasion.
Sharing her emotions on Instagram, Lynn posted a heartfelt photo of herself with AKA and Steffan during a past birthday celebration. She expressed her profound sadness as she prepared to celebrate her special day without her son by her side.

“My birthday used to be one of the happiest days of my life. Tomorrow will be my 2nd birthday without you,” she wrote, capturing the essence of her bittersweet memories.
The tragic murders of AKA and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane in February 2023 have seen significant progress in recent months. After a year of minimal updates, a breakthrough came in March 2024 with the arrest of five suspects.
This marked a crucial step forward in the investigation. Additionally, two more suspects, believed to be brothers, are awaiting extradition from Eswatini to face trial alongside the others.
The case is currently in the trial stage, with the state and defence presenting their arguments. In May, details emerged about a large sum of money allegedly paid to one of the suspects shortly after the murders.
The trial is ongoing, and a verdict is yet to be reached, with the next court date set for August 8, 2024. As the legal proceedings continue, Lynn Forbes and her family hope for justice and closure.
