Thuli Madonsela has warned of a recent scam activity on WhatsApp after being scammed.
The former cape town minister of public protection, took to Twitter to warn others about the scam activity, saying that she and her friend lost some money to the scammer who hacked the account of a mutual friend to commit the act.

Thuli Madonsela recounted her experience on Twitter, saying that she only became aware of what was happening when the impersonator began to act funny.
“It was when the scammer became so greedy and brazen that my son and I figured out that it was a scam.
“If people can be forced to rescue themselves because of someone claiming to be dishonestly acting on their behalf with no evidence implicating them, our judges would be in trouble.
“Worse is people who cab hack other’s WhatsApp ID as many as many of us have been scammed by people masquerading as friends or family” Thuli wrote”

Six months ago, parliament had warned the public of a certain account using the name of the National Assembly to scam people of their money.
The profile picture of the account is that of the national council of Provinces chairman Amos Masondo who sends emails from a G-account seen to be that of the speaker asking people for their WhatsApp contacts in other to initiate a conversation.
