South African musician Da L.E.S, also known as Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr, recently shared the news of his upcoming album, Welcome to 313, set to be released in December this year.
However, it seems that his announcement didn’t quite receive the enthusiastic response he was hoping for.

Despite his three-year absence from the music scene, Da L.E.S’ followers appeared underwhelmed by the news. Some even took it upon themselves to rain on his parade, suggesting that he should give up on making music altogether.
Da L.E.S, undeterred by the lackluster response, expressed his excitement about his ninth solo album on X. He shared a photo of the album cover art and announced that it is now available for pre-order, with a release date of December 1st, 2023.
Unfortunately, the post failed to gain much traction, only amassing a measly 1.2 likes so far. While his die-hard fans welcomed him back with open arms, the comment section was also filled with trolls questioning why he was still pursuing music.

One particularly harsh comment read, “N*gga, the last time you put out something good was ‘lifestyle.’ Now you’ve fallen off hard. You can’t flip papers; you might as well flip burgers with me. We’re hiring.” Another person simply advised him to retire.
It seems that Da L.E.S has encountered a bump in the road as he attempts to make his comeback. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait until December to see if Welcome to 313 can prove the naysayers wrong and reignite the excitement of his fans.
