Maarohanye, a South African rapper popularly referred to as Jub Jub  has finally ended his silence following his arrest and court appearance. After turning himself in to Brixton police, the “Ndikhohele (Remake)” hitmaker showed up in court.

The songster voluntarily handed himself over to the police and appeared in court, but he made it seem like he was the victim or had done nothing wrong.

The artist came before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, according to Mavela Masondo, a spokesperson for the Gauteng police. During the hearings, Jub Jub received a R10,000 bail. On August 24, he is expected to appear in court once more.

Charges were brought after remarks the musician made on a podcast in 2021, according to Phindi Mjonondwane, a spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority.

Actress Amanda du-Pont accused Maarohanye of raping and physically abusing her while they were dating in response to his remarks made on the show.

In a video that was uploaded on social media, she made her claims. Following Du-Pont’s video, several women reportedly came forward.

In February 2022, the Sowetan reported that Du-Pont had filed a police report in Brixton against Maarohanye.

Jub Jub, who is well-known for both his music and his occasional use of Scripture quotations, has again gone down the Bible path with an Instagram post of verses. The post’s caption supported the earlier assertion that the author feels victimized.
