Zozibini Tunzi made history in 2019 when she was crowned Miss Universe, becoming the first black woman with afro-textured hair to win the pageant.
Her reign as Miss Universe was also the longest ever, lasting a total of 525 days, equivalent to one year, five months, and eight days.
After her Miss Universe reign, Zozi returned to South Africa and dedicated her efforts to her mental health foundation. She diversified her career by venturing into presenting and acting in TV and film, securing a role in “The Woman King.”
While she continued her involvement with the Miss South Africa Organization, rumors of wardrobe-related issues emerged following her absence from the Miss South Africa 2023 pageant, where Natasha Joubert was crowned the winner.
Despite these rumors, Zozi Tunzi remains an influential figure in the world of beauty, fashion, and advocacy.
