EFF plans recall of 210 officials in wake of 10th anniversary transport setback. Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), made a significant revelation on Sunday, announcing the impending recall of 210 public representatives affiliated with the party.
Furthermore, the leadership within the party will be required to relinquish their positions.

This development stems from the failure to secure adequate transportation for the EFF’s tenth-anniversary rally, an issue that came to light in recent times.
Malema’s proclamation came during a media address where he shared the outcomes of the central command team’s (CCT) meeting held over Friday and Saturday.
Back in July, the EFF took action against 439 members, which included MPs, provincial legislators, and councillors, by prohibiting their participation in the anniversary event due to their inability to secure funding for transportation.
The party had promised to take disciplinary measures in response. “The CCT expresses profound concern about public representatives who, despite having more than five months to organize transportation for their constituencies, failed to do so.
Within the EFF, every leader, including public representatives, is expected to possess comprehensive and unwavering abilities to organize, mobilize, educate, advocate, and also fundraise for all organizational activities,” Malema stated.
He highlighted that these qualities are indispensable, as EFF leaders hold the responsibility to stand up against the powerful white monopoly establishment and safeguard the lives of the people they represent.

Julius Malema clarified that this decision aligns seamlessly with the EFF’s constitution. The party chose to pursue this course of action rather than subject members to disciplinary procedures that could result in their removal.
For those who remain committed to the cause of achieving economic freedom within their lifetimes, the recalled EFF members will still retain their membership status within the organization. However, they will not be eligible for redeployment to the structures they were originally recalled from.
