Thabo Bester Controversy: “Former Accused Nastassja Jansen Claims To Have Been Framed
In an exclusive interview with SABC, shared on the X platform on Thursday, October 12, Nastassja Jansen, a former G4S employee implicated in the Thabo Bester escape saga, asserted that she was deliberately “framed” and made a “scapegoat” in the intricate prison break plan.
During proceedings at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Estelle de Lange dismissed charges against three individuals involved in the Thabo Bester case,

namely Nastassja Jansen, Thabang Matthews Mier, and Moeketsi April Ramolula, as reported by SowetanLive.
The trio faced a range of charges, including defeating the ends of justice, fraud, corruption, aiding an inmate to escape from lawful custody, concealing an escaped offender, violating a corpse, and aiding arson.
Magistrate de Lange was quoted as saying, “All the charges are then withdrawn against the three accused. You may stand down.”
Reflecting on her role in the Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana controversy, Jansen expressed her belief that she was unfairly singled out. She stated, “I believe I was used as a scapegoat.
I believe I was somehow framed, and I don’t know how. I cannot explain that. And I also believe that the police did not do a proper investigation, because if they did, I was not going to sit in prison for 29 days.

In related court proceedings, Dr Nandipha Magudumana and Thabo Bester were anticipated to appear together for the first time since their arrest in Tanzania earlier this year.
However, just before Magudumana’s court appearance, reports surfaced that she had fainted.
According to her lawyer, Machini Motloung, he alleged that Magudumana, along with a few inmates from Bizzah Makhate Correctional Centre in Kroonstad, had purportedly experienced food poisoning.
