Ndileka Mandela reflects on Zoleka Mandela’s legacy. South Africans were met with the somber news of Zoleka Mandela’s passing.
She was the granddaughter of Tata Nelson and Mama Winnie Mandela, a renowned author, global activist, and a resilient cancer survivor who inspired many with her unwavering fight against cancer, even in the face of bone metastases.

Zoleka, affectionately known for her reference to her “million kids,” maintained a positive outlook and kept her followers updated on her medical procedures and how they affected her well-being.
In a heartfelt video shared by the SABC, Ndileka, Zoleka’s cousin and daughter of Zenani Mandela Dlamini, also a granddaughter of the revered struggle icons, shared her thoughts and memories of her beloved cousin.
Ndileka reminisced, “Well, what can I say about my cousin Zoleka. I knew Zoleka from the time that she was a baby, I was about 14 years old when Zoleka was born. My relationship with her extends from the time that she was born.
