The Mzansi Youth Choir has achieved a remarkable feat by advancing to the finale of the 18th season of ‘America’s Got Talent’ (AGT) following their sensational rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere.’
Their journey to the AGT finale took an emotional turn when they earned the Golden Buzzer during the semi-finals for their heartfelt tribute to the late Nightbirde.
Nightbirde was a singer who captured hearts with her rendition of the same song during the 16th season but tragically lost her battle with cancer on February 19, 2022.
The choir was deeply inspired by Nightbirde’s resilient spirit in the face of adversity and decided to honor her legacy by performing their unique interpretation of her original song.
This choice moved Simon Cowell to tears, touched by the choir’s motivation and the emotional resonance of their performance.
Simon Cowell praised the choir’s captivating energy and highlighted the transformative power of the ‘AGT’ stage on their journey.
Some of Nightbirde’s family members were in the audience during the choir’s tribute, and Cowell expressed his gratitude to them for preserving her memory through the choir’s moving performance.
