The remarkable 8-year-old had been rehearsing diligently with the Supa Mega band, who delivered a tribute to the late star during the event.
Taking to Instagram, DJ Zinhle narrated the poignant moment when Kairo displayed immense bravery by performing her father’s song in front of a large crowd, despite the profound pain caused by her dad’s passing.
“After bravely performing her dad’s song in front of thousands of people, my 8-year-old broke down crying, saying she just misses her daddy and wishes he was here,” Zinhle wrote, sharing the depth of Kairo’s emotions.
She noted that Kairo often attempts to hide her feelings, making this instance of heartfelt tears a rare occurrence.
Zinhle further revealed that this emotional moment unfolded while her friend, Thando Thabethe, was announcing her for her performance at the event.
Kairo, displaying immense courage, stepped in and took over as Zinhle walked onto the stage, visibly moved by her daughter’s strength.
Despite being proud of Kairo’s bravery, DJ Zinhle expressed her heartfelt wish that Kairo didn’t have to bear such a heavy burden of bravery and instead could still have her dad by her side.
