Black Coffee Makes History With Sold-Out Madison Square Garden Concert.
Grammy award-winning artist Black Coffee, known by his real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first South African to sell out New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden on Saturday, October 7th.
Continuing to elevate South Africa’s global presence, the multi-award winner had an international audience grooving to his beats, featuring collaborations with some of the artists who have contributed to his music.

Performances by artists like Bucie, Monique Bingham, Mondli Ngcobo, Shoba, Portia Monique, and others captivated the 20,000-strong audience.
Prominent South African figures, including Oskido, deejay and podcaster MacG, Cassper Nyovest, Liesl and Musa Mthombeni, among others, flew in to support the superstar.
Reflecting on the momentous achievement, Black Coffee took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share a brief yet powerful message, stating, “We did it. 🇺🇸❤️ #soldout.”
