AKA’s posthumous album mass country goes platinum. The posthumous album, “Mass Country” has just been certified platinum.

The family of AKA and the music label Vth Season were presented with the plaque by Sony Music Entertainment Africa. AKA’s fiancée Nadia Nakai and his ex-girlfriend DJ Zinhle, with whom he has a child, were also there.

Tony Forbes, AKA’s father, acknowledged his late son’s successes in a statement to the TshisaLIVE. “I’m moved, proud, and appreciative that we had him.

He passed away at the age of 35, but not before leaving his mark on the world. It’s not about the amount of sales, he continued.

For me, it’s the desire of people to hear his music, to think about him, and to be motivated by him.

Tony also discussed the murder investigation conducted by AKA. Tony says the investigation is slow but the family is patient with the process.

“There are days where one hopes to hear the news that something happened. But we still want to give the process space. We are in touch with investigators and they keep us abreast, it does seem slow, but it’s only [been] six months.”
