Day 2 of living in Paris! "I drove! And both us and the car came out unscathed! had to do a practice run without the kids first. And successfully got us home after the park, with the help of google maps ( should have taken 15 minutes but after about an hour of taking wrong turns, we made it). Rachel wrote with excitement."

Rachel Kolisi and family has at last set foot in Paris, embarking on the next chapter of their lives as Siya Kolisi pursues his rugby career with Racing 92.

While Siya remains occupied with rugby World Cup preparations, the rest of the family—Rachel, Keziah, and Nicholas—navigated this transition together.

Rachel Kolisi, sharing her feelings ahead of the move, expressed the heaviness in her heart due to the impending farewells.

With older siblings Liyema and Liphelo remaining behind for academic commitments, Rachel revealed that the family intended to keep regular contact and visits.

After arriving in Paris, Rachel took to social media to provide insights into their first day in the city. She assured friends and followers of updates, even though they may not come on a daily basis.

Day one in Paris unveiled itself with a kind driver welcoming them with fresh orange juice and chocolate croissants. Despite a sleep-deprived flight, the kids rested well, and the family settled into their new home.

The day saw a grocery excursion, leading to amusing realizations such as:

  1. The concept of air conditioning isn’t as prevalent in Paris, a fact they would soon need to address in the sweltering heat.

2. Learning how to ask “where is the grocery store?” in French became an urgent necessity to avoid another lengthy walk.

3. Essential vocabulary lessons included discovering the French word for “chicken.”

4. A delightful surprise awaited Rachel as she stumbled upon the availability of South African rooibos-infused drink, BOS, in France.

5. Amid the adjustments, Rachel humorously noted that meal planning would require some refining.
