Zahara’s sisters, Lumka and Bandezwa Mkutukana, are grappling with the heartbreaking loss of the talented singer.

The news of Zahara’s passing came as a shock to many, as she was only 36 years old. She had been battling liver complications and unfortunately succumbed to them while in the hospital.

In an interview with TshisaLIVE, Bandezwa shared their shattered hopes and plans for Zahara’s future.

“We had so many exciting plans for her while she was in the hospital, and we truly believed she would recover,” she said.

“She had just signed with a new recording company and was even scheduled to go overseas in February. Her future was filled with promise, and it felt like she was truly blessed by God.”

Lumka, Zahara’s other sister, expressed the pain of losing someone who brought laughter into their lives.

“It’s incredibly painful that Bulelwa is no longer with us. We don’t know who will be able to make us laugh like she did,” Lumka shared. She also fondly recalled a touching moment Zahara had with their children.

“I remember the week before she was admitted to the hospital, she was visiting us at home. She told our kids that she wouldn’t be sleeping in her own bed and instead took her mattress to join them. Even though she didn’t have her own children, she loved ours as if they were her own.”

The loss of Zahara has left her sisters devastated, as they try to come to terms with a future that no longer includes her bright presence. Her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched.
