Idols SA, season 14 winner Yanga Sobetwa may have been out of sight and mind after her victory in the competitions at age 17.
The young lady who has been out of public has been working behind the scenes and spending a lot of time in the studio working toward her new album.

Yanga Sobetwa will be recording her new album titled “ New Era this weekend in Braamfontein, she disclosed that she hopes it has her album has an impact on people and that it encourages people, regardless of the situations they find themselves in.
“I want people to experience God in a new way. I would like them to walk out of there feeling reassured, validated and revived. There has been a lot of loss and people are trusting God for different things in their lives and I pray he meets them at their points of need.”
Yanga said she is focused on creating her own sound in the music industry “ There are no features on this album because I would like to establish my own sound. I would say it is contemporary gospel, with elements of African sounds.” she said.

She also said that when she won Idols SA, she did not receive her prize immediately, saying that there was some drama around the situation.
“I waited longer than I thought I would get the money, but I eventually got it. I just cannot remember how long the wait was. I had initially told them I did not want them to give me the money until I had figured out what I wanted to do with it. Then when I did ask for it a year later, I had to wait longer than I thought,” she said
