“Water” by Tyla is currently the rave of the moment. The happy, catchy, and energetic song by the brilliant 21-year-old has everyone dancing and loving it.
Before Tyla’s breakthrough with her new track water, she released songs titled been thinking, Getting Late, girl next door and To Last which were highly successful and released under Epic record label.

Just like many other artists whose new songs are accompanied by a dance routine, Tyla’s Water is no exemption as the song now has a dance challenge to accompany it.
The dance challenge became popular especially on popular social media network Tiktok, when the talented young lady began posting clips of her performing her hit song on stage that have since racked up millions of views.
The routine is inspired by a particular style of dance called Bacardi, which originates in South Africa and comes from a sub-genre of music named amapiano. In short, it can be described as a mix of twerking and belly dancing.
In the viral video, Tyla moves her hips in ways one can only dream of while pouring water down her back, hence the name of the challenge.

Now, the trend has over 150 million views on TikTok with tons of people trying to re-create it. Some tips for nailing the dance routine that we’ve seen in TikTok comments is to wear something loose and flowing to emphasize the movement and that practice makes perfect.
Tyla is a 21-year-old South African artist who rose to prominence with her new hit water.
Her debut performance came in 2023 at Milan Fashion Week, following the release of her single “Been Thinking” which earned Tyla her first chart placement of her career, on the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
