The masked singer is set to hit the big screen again. The reality tv show announces bringing its 3rd season to South Africa.
The masked singer will premiere on the 3rd of June 2023 and will see 16 popular celebrities perform in full, covered up in costumes and masks to disguise their identity with a panel of judges as detectives to guess the celebrity behind the mask.

Making the list of detectives are J-something, Somizi Mhlong, Sithelo Shozi, funny man Skhumb Hlophe, Micasa fame with popular comedian and actor Mpho Popps hosting the show.
Commenting on the show, Mpho Popps said ‘ I am super excited to be the host of the show, honestly speaking, this is the biggest adventure I’ve ever embarked on and I am excited to see how South Africa is going to enjoy it but most importantly, I’m excited that I get to work with these amazing people
In response, Funny Man Hlophe said “It’s wild man”
You feel like you’re in jail but you are enjoying this jail time, we don’t know who’s there and every time the mask goes off when they take off their mask, we’re like ‘ How did we miss this person? he said.
Meanwhile, Shozi responded that the masked singer south africa is a hard secret and loves the experience.
“Other than my three pregnancies, this had been the hardest secret. It’s been so hard keeping a secret but so worth it” The experience has been surreal, I still get chills when we go on stage and record the show’ she added.
The masked singer South Africa will show every Saturday on SABC3 and SABC1 respectively and in collaboration with SABC, PRIMEDIA, and Anele Mododa’s production company, Rose and Oaks.
