The masked singer which was premiered on 3rd June in South Africa is hosted by South African Television personality and comedian, Moho Popps.

The show features celebrities celebrities who will perform on stage disguised in a mask.

The reality show is made up of a team of detectives like J’Something, Somizi, Sithelo and Skhumba, who will try to guess the identities of the singing celebrities behind the masks.

Every week audiences and the detectives will try to solve the mystery of the masked singer.

As the competition gets more intense, the masked singers will be going head-to-head, showing off their vocals in cartoon characters costumes.

And each week, one identity will be revealed until episode 13 when the final four masked celebs will battle for the Golden Masked Trophy.

Recently, Banana’s mask peeled off on The Masked Singer
The voice behind the Banana mask had everyone fooled with his soothing, big vocal pipes and obscure clues.
Banana’s rendition of It’s Amazing by Luther Vandross left the audiences swooning, but Fox and Robot outperformed him, sending him to the danger zone.

Sithelo, on the other hand, believed that only a theatre performer could project a voice like that, and said it was Sello Maake KaNcube behind the mask, while Skumba was convinced it was Grammy winner Zakes Bantwini.

The detectives, audience and viewers at home were left floored when Banana peeled off his mask to reveal the face of Bongani Bingwa, the host of the Breakfast Show on 702.
