Senegalese-American singer, Akon has provoked South Africans to a reaction after he made claims that white people in South Africa lived in more poverty and ghetto than black people.
In a viral video online, Akon alleged that the smartest people in the world came from Nigeria, he stated that even though South Africa happens to be the main Africa, however, Nigeria remained the smartest.

“ This could be debatable but Nigerians are the most smartest people on the planet. There’s nobody smarter than a Nigerian, their intelligence is all over the place” he said.
He further alleged that there’s been more wealth created in Nigeria than in any other place in the world.
“ There’s been more billions made in Nigeria than any other place. he added.

The comparisons did not sit well with Nigeria’s Sister Country, South Africa, who lashed at him on social media, asking him which Nigeria was he talking about.
The remarks by Akon did not go down well with many South Africans who labelled him ignorant for spreading false information about the country.
