Princess MacDonald, a 24-year-old singer from Mpumalanga, has been auditioning for Idols SA since the 8th season. Despite facing numerous rejections, she never gave up on her dream.

In an interview with TshishaLIVE, Princess shared her reasons for persisting in her pursuit of a music career. ‘I believe I can sing, and the only way to showcase my talent to the world is to enter Idols. At that time, I didn’t have any other option. I’ve tried so many avenues, but it wasn’t my time. I told myself I’ll never give up until I get what’s meant to be mine. Until I got the opportunity,’ she said.
Princess also revealed that her son, Jaden, has been her biggest motivation. ‘My son is the first reason I always grind. I want to change my background, where I come from. I want to be a mom who’s there for him, become independent, and have something that I can call mine. I also want to take care of my family,’ she explained.

Competing against two male contestants, Thabo and Faith, who have a strong fan base, Princess admits to feeling nervous. However, she remains confident in her abilities and believes that she will secure her spot in the top two.
