Commenting on the series and the idea behind it as the executive producer, the actress says she wanted to put out something different, “I just wanted to do something brave, I want to tell stories that I actually like and enjoy.
“I want to portray characters and people that I revere, that have changed the discourse of who we are as a people,” she said.
“Shaka Ilemba is only just the beginning. it has been an awesome journey of just being a student, learning, soaking it all in, and finding my own voice,” the actress added.

The epic series is set to launch across sub-Sahara Africa and on MultiChoice video service DSTV, Mzansi Magic from June 18 on Sundays.
