Sad news has hit the Nigerian film and entertainment industry as veteran comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has passed away at the age of 62.

His death comes after a prolonged battle with a life-threatening illness, which ultimately led to the amputation of his leg.

According to reports, Mr Ibu underwent seven surgeries before his leg was amputated. The actor’s health took a turn for the worse, and he recently had to undergo another surgery on the same leg. As a result, he had difficulty speaking and communicating.
