South African singer Nhlanhla Mafu has raised awareness about her condition after she recently shared one of the most embarrassing and toughest moments of her life.
Nhlanhla Mafu shared that she was suffering from hearing impairment as a result of long term exposure to high volume of noise.
Nhlanhla Mafu said that when she discovered she found it difficult to pick up sounds during conversations, she decided to get her ears checked out.

Reflecting on her experience the talented singer said “For me, at some point in my life, I felt embarrassed when I had to do interviews and I’m with my partner Theo and he has to always repeat the questions”.
“Even when I was just chilling with friends, sometimes I would just laugh without knowing what people are laughing about or be agreeable basically to everything because I can’t hear and I was really embarrassed to just say I am having this problem,” she said.
The Love Potion hitmaker shared that she has been silently struggling with her hearing and was too ashamed to open up about it to anyone.
