In the ongoing inquest hearing into the tragic death of rapper AKA’s fiancée, Nelli Tembe, new video evidence has reportedly been submitted.
According to a recent report by Sunday World, the video clip in question allegedly shows Nelli threatening to commit suicide at AKA’s home. This crucial piece of evidence is expected to be presented when the inquest hearing resumes on April 8th at the Cape Town magistrate’s court.

The circumstances surrounding Nelli’s death have been shrouded in speculation and controversy. Three years ago, she was involved in an incident where she reportedly fell off the balcony of a hotel in Cape Town during an altercation with AKA.
Now, AKA’s legal team hopes to use this newly obtained video, obtained by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), as part of their defense.
According to reports, the video captures Nelli standing on the balcony of their rented home in Bryanston, throwing her engagement ring and two Rolex watches into the swimming pool. She also allegedly tosses a portrait of the rapper into the pool. In a distressing turn of events, she then threatens to jump. AKA, in a daring act, jumps into the pool to retrieve the items.
The decision to submit this video to the NPA was made in an attempt to prove that Nelli was suicidal and that AKA did not cause her death, as some have speculated.
However, whether this evidence will be enough to convince the court remains uncertain. After all, we were not present in the room and cannot know the full extent of what transpired.
