South African music duo Major League DJz are beaming with their shoulders padded with pride abroad as they represent the Amapiano music genre.

The music duo, composed of twin brothers Banele and Bandile Mbere, are known for pioneering amapiano, a subgenre of house music that emerged in South Africa in the mid-2010s. They have however made their sound distinctive and have described it as groovy and sexy house music with undertones of jazz.

The historic set was preceded by their cover on DJ Mag as the first amapiano act.“DJ Mag is  the biggest DJ magazine, so it means a lot to be on the cover internationally,” It’s been a dream for us to be on the cover. We’ll treasure this moment,” shared Bandile.

In 2006, the stars decided to do music on a professional level by being hosts of events and after-parties.

In late 2008, they began to play, and the process gave birth to the music group, Major League DJz. They have shared their music with music heavyweights on the international scene like Kid Cudi and Kanye West.
