Shaka iLembe star Lemogang Tsipa, known for portraying the role of Shaka, is gearing to launch his music career. The actor, who has been a drummer from a young age, said he was ready to expand his brand as a performing artist.
“I’m moving into music. I’ve been a drummer longer than I’ve been an actor. I’m moving into the music space as a performing artist so people can expect that. I’m not leaving acting,” he said in an interview with DJ Fresh.

He’s promised to make a range of music, dabbling in genres including maskandi, Amapiano and Afro beats, among others.
“I’m making a song for everybody, so there’s no excuse. Everybody should have one of my songs on their playlist at some point.”
Speaking to the BubblegumClub, Lemogang Tsipa said he had already recorded 100 songs and couldn’t wait for people to hear them.
“I’ve got a lot of music I’ve been working on. A lot of people don’t know I’ve been a musician longer than I’ve been an actor. Hopefully, I will be able to do both and balance both. There are great examples of people who have done it successfully.
“I see myself being able to do it. I’m passionate about both.” Lemogang has started to rebrand on social media and while his fans wait in anticipation for his first body of work, the actor has shared a SoundCloud link to his old music from two years ago.
