It’s been such an interesting July so far with controversies steaming from the Amapiano saga and their producers topping the chart. Suffice to say, indeed a month filled with tension, action, betrayal, laughter, and emotions for South Africans on social media.
July kicked off with a blast on South African Amapiano producer, Busta 929 for dating a 16 year old underaged girl, to Nelisa accusing Khosi Twala of sending hitmen after her llife and that of her family, to another interesting event about DJ Maphorisa taking repossession of gifts bought for Ex Girlfriend Thulo Phonlogo after their relationship hit the rock.

What was supposed to be a peaceful breezy Wednesday on Twitter turned out to be filled with backlash and uncertainties between Sibling countries, South Africa and Nigeria.
Some South Africans on Twitter have expressed anger about a tweet made by the young American rapper Swae Lee.
It all started when Swae Lee sparked an uproar on Twitter after sharing a video of himself insinuating that Amapiano originated from Nigerian.
Tsz Mzansi learned that Swae Lee who is currently vacating in Dubai tried to brag about stealing the Amapiano trademark and its origin to Nigeria.
The tweet attracted a lot of backlash and triggered anger in some South Africans who are very unimpressed by the claims.

Meanwhile, social media users in Nigeria have quoted that Nigerians didn’t create Amapiano and have credited its origin to South Africa. Stating that Nigerians only took advantage of the genre.
