The tragic deaths of AKA and his fiancée Anele Tembe continue to haunt us, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions. Although their deaths occurred in different years, Anele’s passing ignited a firestorm of outrage, with AKA facing allegations of involvement in her demise.
In a recent interview on the Within With Hazel Podcast, AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, shared his perspective on why he believes his son and Anele were not a good match.
Forbes pointed out that AKA and Anele were in different stages of their lives, making it challenging for their relationship to withstand the personal transitions each of them was going through.

“Personally, in my view, Kiernan and Anele were at divergent stages of their lives. This is just my opinion, and I don’t speak for anyone else. I’m not sure they were good for each other, as a father’s view,” Tony Forbes candidly expressed.
When it comes to the incident preceding Anele’s untimely death, which involved widely circulated images and footage of AKA breaking down a door, Tony Forbes revealed that there will be an inquest into Anele’s passing next year.
He emphasized that this inquest will shed light on previously undisclosed aspects of the story, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the events leading up to Tembe’s tragic demise.
“There’s a context,” Tony Forbes explained. “If you look at that video where he breaks down the door, it doesn’t show what happens after that. It doesn’t show what happened before, so you don’t know why he is breaking down the door.”
He went on to say, “I think what has been put out into the public domain has been very one-sided. Up until Kiernan’s passing, he refused to speak out and share his side, even pointing out issues in Anele.
“So, largely, there’s a one-sided view of things. With time, the other side of the story will be told, naturally as part of the inquest into Anele’s death.”
It’s clear that Tony Forbes believes there is more to the story than what has been widely circulated.
He wants the world to reserve judgment until all the facts are presented. While it’s easy to form opinions based on incomplete information, it’s essential to remember that there are always multiple sides to any story.
