SA influencer Gugu Mahlangu-Kanana recently made waves with the breakdown of the costs of her wedding. According to the Youtuber, they spent a whopping R400,000 on their wedding. And that’s not all, the couple supposedly paid the wedding in cash and had spent five years saving for the lavishing!!

Gugu broke down the costs in a vlog for her subscribers on her channel. In her vlog, she revealed they both get year-end bonuses from their full-time jobs which they saved. Additionally, Gugu states that her side hustle as an influencer also helped them reach their saving goals much faster.
On the vlog, she states:
“Guys, we got married cash, we didn’t take out any loan, and when I tell you, even now, that we are broke but it’s peace of mind that when month-end comes, we don’t owe anyone R300 000 or R400 000.”
However, the cost of both the wedding and honeymoon made Gugu and her husband to pause on other things. According to her, finding a house for themselves and having kids were put off having children to achieve their goals.

It seems like the pair had considered all costs they might acquire and plan their way achieve these things:
“We are so hellbent on this thing of not taking loans, we are so hellbent on it that even if people laugh at us [for still living in a flat] but at least we are doing things at our pace, on a cash basis.”
But Gugu was not done yet! she shocks us with another shocking news. Apparently, Gugu quits her full-time job and plans on becoming a full-time content creator
