It’s been five long years since Lady Zamar, also known as Yamikani Janet Banda, released new music. And now, as she prepares to drop her highly anticipated album, fears are starting to rise. The question on everyone’s mind is: will this album be well received?

It’s no secret that Lady Zamar has faced her fair share of challenges, particularly with the cancel culture that has been prevalent in recent years. The cancel culture, a phenomenon created by online culture custodians, came into play when Lady Zamar accused her ex-boyfriend, Sjava, of rape. This accusation not only damaged Sjava’s reputation but also had severe consequences for Lady Zamar herself.

The fallout from the accusation led to Sjava losing numerous partnerships, and social media users were quick to boycott anything associated with Lady Zamar. This boycott included her music, leaving her with a dwindling fan base and a tarnished image.

So, it’s understandable that there is a sense of trepidation surrounding Lady Zamar’s upcoming album. After all, her recent single, “Deeper,” struggled to gain traction, garnering only 1,900 views on YouTube after 48 hours. This lackluster response has only fueled concerns about the album’s potential success.

However, Lady Zamar remains optimistic about her career and the release of her new album, titled “Rainbow.” In a recent interview, she opened up about the challenges she faced during the album’s creation.

“It is challenging, extremely challenging,” Lady Zamar admitted. “But for the most part, it’s a real career that I get to have, and it allows me to be as open and free as I can be.”

She revealed that the process of making “Rainbow” began in 2020, as she went back to the drawing board to redefine her sound and reinvent herself. This period coincided with the drama unfolding on social media, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the creative process.

“I did a lot of vocal training during this time, trying to find the strengths and weaknesses in my own voice,” Lady Zamar shared. “In 2021, we created an entire album, but it just wasn’t where we wanted it to be. So, we made the brave decision to start the entire project again.”

Reflecting on the challenging years she spent on break, Lady Zamar expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with herself and rediscover her passion for music.

“The journey of making this album has been a rollercoaster ride,” she said. “But it’s also been a transformative experience. I’ve grown so much as an artist and as a person, and I’m excited to share that growth with my fans.”

As Lady Zamar prepares to release “Rainbow,” she understands that there may be doubts and fears surrounding its reception. However, she remains hopeful that her music will resonate with listeners and remind them of her talent and artistry.

So, let’s wait and see what the future holds for Lady Zamar and her highly anticipated album. After all, as the saying goes, “The show must go on.”
