South African musician, Bongani Fassie has opened up on an experience that led him to start taking drugs for comfort.
The South African Musician and member of the musical group Jozi disclosed his mother’s death made him consider drug intake.

Bongani Fassie said before he started taking drugs, he hated it, despite watching his late mother use drugs. According to the singer, he went into drugs for solace when he was having a tough time admitting to the reality of losing his mom.
“I started using drugs because I was running away from the fact that I had lost my mom, Brenda Fassie. hated drugs so much, even watching my mom do drugs… I hated it so much,” he said.
Bongani Fassie is prominent for being the only son of the late South African singer, songwriter, and dancer Brenda Fassie.

Bongani developed a love for music after spending a lot of time with his mother who also was in the music industry, even though she wanted him to be a lawyer.
The musician has dropped many singles on his label and collaborated with many local musicians in the music industry.
