For years, Vatiswa Ndara was a beloved face on our screens. From her compelling performances to her undeniable talent, she captured the hearts of many South Africans both at home and abroad.
However, recently, she has been conspicuously absent from the television industry. The reason for her departure, according to a fan’s viral tweet, was due to alleged blacklisting.
The fan’s tweet highlighted the perceived injustice: “We need to deal with whoever blacklisted Vatiswa Ndara, there’s no way they’re still depriving her of work with all that talent,” sparking widespread debate.
The tweet drew much attention, invoking discussions about the infamous scandal between Vatiswa and the Fergusons that grabbed headlines four years ago. Many assumed that this scandal had a lasting impact on her acting career.
While fans demanded accountability, radio personality Anele Mdoda threw a curveball into the narrative. Reacting to the viral tweet, Mdoda revealed that Vatiswa Ndara was not blacklisted but had chosen to leave the acting industry herself.
“She left the industry. I called her and begged last year. She said not a chance. I won’t give up though. That woman is talent,” shared Mdoda, reflecting both her admiration for Ndara and her sense of loss for the industry.
Although Vatiswa Ndara’s decision to step away has left a void, it’s clear that her impact and the reverence people hold for her remain strong. Anele’s efforts to coax her back are evidence of the respect she commands.
As fans, we can only hope she reconsiders, but until then, we respect her choice and remain ever grateful for the extraordinary talent she shared with us on stage and screen.
